PCHS FOOTBALL COACHES
I have coached High School Football for 15 years and College for one. For the last 13 years I have been a Head Coach. I played football in college and for a brief moment in NFL Europe. My high school years were spent at Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, Fl. I earned a football scholarship to play on the college level at Valdosta State University. After graduating college, I stayed on at VSU as the receiver’s coach and coached there for one year. I got a phone call to play Arena Football for the Albany, NY Firebirds and another phone call to play for NFL Europe. After I was cut from The Frankfort Galaxy (NFL Europe), I decided to try coaching at the high school level. I received my first opportunity as a high school coach at Brantley County High School as the offensive coordinator. That experience opened the door for my next job as Ware County’s offensive coordinator. I coached at Ware County for three years when Brantley County called me and offered the Head Football position. I served as Brantley’s Head Coach for eight years and athletic Director for five years. I was offered the head football coach and athletic director’s job at Cordele in 2010, and I decided to make the move. After looking at several different options, my family and I decided that Pierce is where we needed to be. And now, I am heading into my 6th year as PCHS’s head football coach. I have two children. Dalton Pender, is 16 and participates in cross country and track at PCHS. My daughter, Sadie is 12 and attends PCMS as a 6th grader and loves to tumble and cheer.
